About

Leah Schrubbe, PhD, MSc
LSHTM WHO PhD Epidemiology

Leah Schrubbe is a PhD epidemiologist and public health consultant with expertise in maternal-fetal health, HIV prevention and treatment, and the intersection of gender-based violence and infectious disease. Her doctoral research examined the role of intimate partner violence on antiretroviral therapy adherence among pregnant and breastfeeding women, and the downstream effects on mother-to-child transmission of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa.

Trained at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Leah has contributed to national and regional surveys, program evaluations, and randomized controlled trials across eastern and southern Africa. Her methods expertise spans statistical analysis in R, multilevel and longitudinal modeling, meta-analysis, and population-based survey design.

Through Leah Schrubbe Consulting, LLC, she partners with international organizations, academic institutions, and research groups to translate rigorous epidemiological evidence into actionable global health policy and programs. Current and past clients include the World Health Organization and leading public health research consortia.
